So it turns out that I know very little about the stuff in our night sky.
I know there is a moon and it rises at a slightly different time each night. Some times it is a full moon and sometimes it isn't. That's about it.
Last night I went to the beach to try and get some pics of the rising full moon. No luck. I didn't account for Eastern Australian Daylight Savings Time so was an hour early.
Went home and found the correct time and drove back to the beach.
Most definately worth it! If you have never seen a moon rising out from the ocean, well holy shit you have to see this.
For people who live in Newcastle - I drove past Merewether, Bar Beach and then rounded Civic Park and when I was level with Newcastle Ocean Baths, there it was rising from behind Nobby's. I nearly crashed the bloody car.
Only a mere 364,604 kilometres away but it looked huge!
