Last night from 8:00 - 9:00 was Earth Hour. It started in Sydney last year and for the hour everyone is encouraged to turn off all lights and not use electricity. This year it has gone global with many cities joining in the fun. We spent Earth Hour telling ghost stories, making animal shapes with candle light and watching butterflies leave trails of fairy dust while flying around candles.
Gotta say that not everyone in my street participated but the latest news reports that the Hunter Valley/Lake Macquarie (where I live) saved more energy in the hour than Sydney. So I guess we helped.
